Stays of the 1780's to 1790's Flattened the bust and pushed it upwards into the chest. Stays of this period did not have the strength to pull the waist, like Victorian era corsets did, so as a result sat snug against the waist without reducing it. The effect was achieved with the tabs around the waistline splaying out over the hips giving the illusion of a smaller waist. Stays of this period were generally practical and made of plain cotton or linen that would be easily washed.

This pair of stays features
• A stitched front detail with a mid-bust height.
• Double reed boning through-out
• Fine cotton top fabric and cotton lining.
• It has basic nickel painted Grommets in the centre back and on the straps.

*This corset is at a reduced price due to some colour damage to the fabric on the side panel and back of the corset. This damage is purely cosmetic and doesn’t not in any way affect the effectiveness of the corset.

The corset will fit standard size 8-10.
